Our Philosophy

Doing Well By Doing Good

We are leaders in the affordable housing industry because at the heart of it all, we’re relationship people. The strength and duration of our collaborations with our partners, clients, lenders and investors matter most to us. We operate from the approach that our investors and partners will only benefit if we do right by our residents, and we ensure that quality, integrity and stability are foundational in everything we do.

Three and a Half Decades of Public-Private Partnerships

For over 35 years, AHDC has worked with numerous nonprofit organizations, housing authorities, and cities in developing affordable housing throughout California. We have co-developed and partnered with several Housing Authorities throughout California, including with the Housing Authority of the County of Butte, Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin, Livermore Housing Authority, Paso Robles Housing Authority, and Regional Housing Authority.

For The Love of Community

We place a high value on local connectivity and compassion. From hosting neighborhood input meetings during the design development process, to connecting our residents with social services and resources, our unparalleled community partnerships are essential to our success. AHDC staff believe in giving back and supporting our community. We are proud to donate and volunteer for a broad range of local and global nonprofits including but not limited to, Poverello House, Catholic Charities of Fresno, Marjorie Mason Center, Family Self Sufficiency, LifeSteps, and Toys for Tots.

Committed to the vitality of the communities we serve.

Some of the organizations we support include:

    Gustavo Becerra

Executive Director / Regional Housing Authority

The Regional Housing Authority partnered with the AHDC team on an acquisition/rehab project in Colusa, CA. This specific property was struggling financially, but thanks to the creative thinking of AHDC, we were able to secure the capital stack to rehab and preserve this vital rural affordable housing asset. AHDC’s experience was the key to our success. I truly have enjoyed working with this group of dedicated professionals in our industry, and look forward to more successful partnerships with AHDC.
